Burleigh Heads Medical Centre offers extended opening hours for your convenience. Our clinic is open:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
  • Closed Sundays and Public Holidays

Outside of these hours, an on-call GP provides after-hours medical care exclusively for currently registered patients. This service is intended for urgent medical needs that cannot safely wait until the clinic reopens.

After-Hours Consultation Information

  • After-hours consultations incur a fee starting from $475 (all ages)
  • A Full upfront payment is required prior to the consultation.
  • Home visits may be arranged only when clinically appropriate and deemed safe and reasonable by the treating doctor

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please do not wait for a call back.

Call 000 immediately or attend your nearest Hospital Emergency Department if you have any of the following:

  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Difficulty breathing or severe shortness of breath
  • Signs of stroke (face droop, arm weakness, speech difficulty)
  • Severe bleeding
  • Loss of consciousness or collapse
  • Severe or rapidly worsening pain
  • Any life-threatening condition

When you call, you will be directed to a voicemail service. Please leave your full name, date of birth, and contact number. The GP will return your call once your medical file has been reviewed and the consultation is ready to proceed.

 

 Important Information

Please note that after-hours GP consultations do not include:

  • Prescriptions for opioids or benzodiazepines
  • Insurance or occupational medical examinations
  • Routine vaccinations
  • Routine health assessments or preventative health checks

These services are best arranged during normal clinic opening hours.
