Frequently Asked Questions |
Referrals to SpecialistsTo ensure you receive the most appropriate care, our GPs prefer to assess your condition before referring you to a specialist. This allows us to discuss your symptoms, ensure a referral is clinically appropriate, and provide the specialist with relevant and up-to-date information. For ongoing referrals please note that specialist referrals cannot be backdated. To be eligible for a Medicare rebate on specialist consultations, you must have a valid referral at the time of your appointment. If your referral has expired or you require a new referral, you will need to book an appointment with your GP. Referral requests cannot be processed over the phone or requested via email. Appointments may be conducted either in person or via a privately billed telehealth consultation, where clinically appropriate. |
